While there aren’t any specific Ranger gear in BG3, there are options that perfectly synergize with their sniper playstyle. Bring a Sharpshooter feat and pick up some of these gear options to create the ultimate archer. Here’s my list of the top 10 Ranger gear in Baldur’s Gate 3.

What are the Top 10 Pieces of Ranger Gear in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Most of the Ranger gear items below boost offensive capabilities through damage or attack roll boosts. They offset the Sharpshooter feat penalty. This feat is crucial in the mid to late game to make Rangers competitive with caster classes. I always pick up Sharpshooter at Level 4 or Level 8. Here’s a quick overview of the items I talk about below in detail so that you can skip to the ones you’re interested in:

10. Hunting Bow
The best Ranger gear in BG3 early game is the Hunting Bow. It has a +1 weapon enhancement bonus and provides Advantage on attacks against Monstrosity enemies like Owlbears and Worgs. I still use it in the late-game as an offhand weapon, because it also gives you a free Hunter’s Mark. This is a core Ranger damage spell that boosts damage for all your attacks by +1d6. I bought this bow from Dammon in the Druid Grove, but you can also buy it later at the Last Light Inn.
9. Strange Conduit Ring
While you’re concentrating with Hunter’s Mark, the Strange Conduit Ring adds an additional +1d4 Psychic damage to your attacks. Loot the ring in an elegant chest in the Inquisitor’s Chamber in Creche Y’llek past the Monastery.
8. Yuan Ti Scale Mail
The Yuan Ti Scale Mail is one the best Ranger armor sets and one of the earliest full Dexterity medium sets you can get. You can add your full Dexterity modifier to AC without a Stealth skill penalty. I got to 20 AC quite easily with it and some protection accessories in Act 2. There are stronger options later, but you can buy this piece of Ranger gear from Talli in the Last Light Inn.
7. Risky Ring
I arranged my best Ranger gear items list roughly in the order of where you find these items from Act 1 to Act 2. But if it wasn’t for that system, the Risky Ring and the next item would be near the top. Remember how strong the Sharpshooter feat is with its high-risk high-reward ability? The Risky Ring gives you Advantage on all attacks — all the time. You get Disadvantage on saving throws but your enemies can’t target you if they’re dead round one from a flurry of Gloom Stalker Sharpshooter-empowered shots. Buy it from Araj Oblodra in Moonrise Towers.
6. Circlet of Hunting
The next best Ranger gear item is the Circlet of Hunting. It gives you +1d4 to attack rolls against creatures marked by Hunter’s Mark, Faerie Fire, True Strike, and Guiding Bolt. The more attack roll bonuses we stack, the better Sharpshooter is. This one’s really easy to activate since Hunter’s Mark is our bread-and-butter ability. If you’re a Drow, you can also activate it with your free Faerie Fire. You can also buy this from Araj Oblodra.
5. Cloak of Displacement
Now we’re in the thick of our best Ranger gear items list. And I’m starting it off with another great defensive option for Rangers. The Cloak of Displacement imposes Disadvantage on all attack rolls against you. The effect lasts until you get hit. However, the cloak reactivates at the start of your turn. Buy it from Danthelon at Danthelon’s Dancing Axe on the bridge town leading up to Baldur’s Gate.
4. Legacy of the Masters
Remember how we want to boost attack rolls as much as possible for the Sharpshooter feat? Another great Ranger gear option is the Legacy of the Masters gloves. They boost your damage and attack rolls by +2. Buy them from Dammon in Act 3.
3. The Dead Shot
Dead Shot is a great alternative to Gontr Mael. It’s a +2 magic weapon offering +2 to attack rolls and damage. Besides reducing your critical hit range to 19 instead, this bow adds double your proficiency bonus to attack rolls. That’s +4 to hit in the late game, which stacks with the weapon enhancement, other items on this list, and the Archery fighting style. I never miss shots with this Ranger magic item. I found it in the Stormshore Armoury in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate.
2. Armor of Agility
The best Ranger armor in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the Armor of Agility. It’s the Yuan Ti Scale set but better. You get 17 AC, your full Dexterity modifier, and whatever other AC bonuses you have. With a Ring of Protection, Boots of Evasion, and this, I had AC 24 in the final boss fight with my Ranger. It also grants you a +2 to saving throws which is always useful. It’s a must-have for any Dexterity-based class and you can buy it from Gloomy Fentonson at the Stormshore Armory like The Dead Shot.
1. Gontr Mael
Along with Dead Shot, this is the best longbow for Rangers in BG3. Gont Mael applies Guiding Bolt on enemies on hit, has a +3 weapon enhancement, and gives you a free Haste spell that doesn’t stun you. Furthermore, you can also perform a special attack that deals Radiant damage and frightens your targets.
