BOBBY ADAMS

Bobby Joe Adams, 75, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024.

Bobby was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Lime Rock, Ala., to the late Grady and Edna Adams. He was a master mechanic by trade and worked many years for Scenic City Mazda and Pye Acura Mazda until retirement. Known for his strong work ethic and skilled hands, Bobby enjoyed fixing cars, building homes, and mowing grass. He cherished his family and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, John Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Adams; sons, Danny (Lisa) Adams and Donny (Cindy) Adams; daughter, Lorie (Donald Hicks) Anderson; brothers, Edward and Jimmy Adams; sister, Betty Lou Moore; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, April 22, in the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home with his grandson Brother Joe Adams officiating. Interment was at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

STEPHANIE ASADI

Stephanie Reschelle Hardinger Asadi, 52, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, due to an unfortunate accident.

Stephanie was born Dec. 19, 1971, to Richard Hardinger and Sheila C. Brown. She worked at Cloudland Canyon State Park where she was the housekeeping supervisor. Stephanie had a passion for the outdoors, was an avid hiker, and loved animals.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Pauline Hardinger, and Chester C. and Cora L. Cameron.

Survivors include her husband, Said Asadi; parents, Richard (Pat) Hardinger and Sheila C. Brown; brothers, Richie (Gina) Hardinger and Eugene Lawson; sister Lenley (Marius) Fey; six nieces and nephews; extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 27, at noon in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Austin Brown officiating.

CLYDE CASTLEBERRY

Clyde Herman Castleberry, 102, of Rising Fawn, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.

Clyde was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Rising Fawn to the late Ben and Malinda Castleberry. He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II. Clyde dedicated many years of service at Mississippi Valley Steel; however, his true joy stemmed from farming, gardening, and fishing. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes S. Castleberry; daughter, Nancy Stephens; brothers, Vardie, Henry, and L.S. Castleberry; sisters, Maggie Blevins, Dorthy Blevins, Icelean Davis, and Dora Dean; grandson, Tyler Fritz.

He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Pell; grandchildren, Tabatha Stephens, Alex Pell, Adam Stephens, and Brandon Pell; great-grandchildren, Tristan Stephens and Alexis Ashburn; and great-great-granddaughter, Elaine Ashburn.

Funeral services were Monday, April 22, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Atkins officiating. Interment was at Hanna Cemetery.

HENRY COWEN

Henry Wallace Cowen, Sr., 82, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.

Mr. Cowen was born Nov.28, 1941, to the late Benjamin F. and Nina Cowen and has resided in the Bryant community for the past 26 years. He was the owner and president of Family Heritage Books Inc., where he devoted his life passionately in Christian ministry. He was a member of New England Seventh-Day Adventist Church for many years. He also enjoyed bird watching from his home and considered the Cardinal as one of his favorites.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ben Cowan, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jeannie Cowen; daughters, Sharalea (Bryan) Blewett and Gena (Craig) Philpott; son, Henry “Skip” (Teresa) Cowen, Jr.; sister, Martha Stausser; grandchildren, Carissa, Jordon, LeAn, Brandon, Mark and Justin.

A graveside service was Monday, April 22, at the Wildwood Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery with Pastor Wilbur Atwood officiating.

The family will also hold a memorial service to celebrate Henry’s life at a later date.

LINDA FORESTER

Linda Forester, 85, of Rising Fawn, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Mrs. Forester was a devout Christian and proud homemaker, quilter, cook, gardener, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors includer her husband of 68 years, Edison “Ed” Forester; children, Cheryl (Freddie) Clark, Lenoir City, Tenn., Teresa (Jim) Stokers, Chickamauga, and Derick Forester, Rising Fawn; grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) Craze, and Wesley (Jessie) Stokes; eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews; special friend, Scott Heglund.

A celebration of her life was Saturday, April 20, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Eddie Cantrell officiating.

DONALD GRAY

Donald “Don” Dwain Gray, 90, of Rising Fawn, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Esther Fulghum Gray; sisters, Herscheline Kenemore, Vonnie Forester, Clara Jo Ryan, and Legatha Walston; brother, Dewitt Gray.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Judy Brock Gray; children Hayley (John) Buffington, Terri (Jon) Buchan, and Scott (Gwen) Gray; grandchildren, Emily Richards, Bryce Buchan, and Parker Buchan; great–grandchild, Kayden Lee Richards; sister, Elaine Whitten; nieces and nephews.

A private service will be at the LaFayette City Cemetery with Minister Robert Erardi officiating.

LEN TEAGUE

Gary Len Teague, 70, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, after enduring a seven year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born in Knoxville, Tenn., Len was the eldest of three siblings. He attended the University of Tennessee and later earned a Masters of Theology from Fuller Seminary. His calling to ministry led him to first serve on Young Life staff in Knoxville, where he met his wife of 47 years, Shannon. In 1978 Len established Young Life in Chattanooga, Tenn., and dedicated 10 years to leading the ministry before becoming Chaplain at Baylor School, Chattanooga. Len accepted the position of Director of Youth at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church (LMPC) in 1989 and was subsequently ordained as Associate Pastor. There he established a youth program and served the remainder of his career until 2019. Len served as the Instructor of Youth Ministries at Covenant College for more than 25 years, leaving a lasting impact reflected in the Len and Shannon Teague Youth Ministry Scholarship established in their honor in 2016.

Len is preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Daniel Teague.

Survivors include his wife, Shannon Simpson Teague; children (and grandchildren), Jesse and Jamie Teague (Bailey, Harper, Larkin, Graham, Hudson), Marshall and Katherine Teague (AnnCarter, Haddie, Camp), Kathleen and Zach Robbins (Bella, Shepherd, Liza); sister, Cathy (Wayne) Brown, brother, Tim (Ginger) Teague; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 27 at noon.

The family will receive guests in LMPC’s fellowship hall prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.
